Bog: Wet, spongy ground of decomposing vegetation.
Prow: Front part of a vessel or aircraft
Moor: Open land usually with peaty soil covered with heather, bracken, and moss.
Mead: An alcoholic liquor made of fermenting honey and water honey.
Beacon: A tower that has a light that gives shoals to passing ships.
Murky: So shaded as to be dark or gloomy.
Reprisal: A retaliatory action against an enemy in wartime.
Sinews: Tendons or connective tissue.
Solace: The comfort you feel when consoled in times of disapointment.
